Privacy Policy

Core Privacy Principle: Lidbendy operates strictly on your Mac. We do not record your screen, track keystrokes, or transmit display frames to remote servers. All graphics and sensor processing happen in real-time on your device using Apple Metal.

1. Introduction

At Lidbendy (“we,” “our,” or “us”), we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what limited information is processed when you visit our website, complete a transaction, or use the Lidbendy macOS application.

2. On-Device Application Privacy

When running Lidbendy on your MacBook:

Zero Screen Capture Storage: Lidbendy requires macOS Screen Recording permissions solely to transform your active desktop perspective in volatile graphics memory via Apple Metal. No screenshot, video recording, or pixel buffer is ever saved to disk or transmitted over the internet.
Lid Sensor Data: The MacBook hinge angle is read directly from your hardware sensor in real-time to calculate tilt mathematics. This measurement never leaves your device.
No Background Telemetry: Lidbendy does not bundle third-party tracking SDKs, analytics beacons, or behavioral monitoring scripts inside the application binary.

3. Information Collected During Purchase

When you purchase a Lidbendy license:

Merchant of Record Processing: Financial transactions are handled directly by Dodo Payments as our Merchant of Record. Dodo Payments collects your billing address, country, email address, and tokenized payment details.
No Financial Data Storage: Lidbendy never sees, collects, or stores your raw credit card numbers or banking passwords.
Customer Records: We maintain a record of your email address, purchase date, and issued license key in order to provide customer support, dispatch order confirmations, and fulfill refund requests.

4. License Activation

When you enter your license key in the Lidbendy macOS app, a lightweight cryptographic request verifies whether the key is valid and has activations remaining (up to 3 Macs). This request transmits only the license string and an anonymous hardware identifier to prevent unauthorized key sharing.

5. Website Cookies and Hosting

Our website uses minimal, strictly necessary technical mechanisms for site performance and checkout routing. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking profiles.

6. Data Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data is shared only with trusted infrastructure providers required to operate our service:

Dodo Payments: For secure checkout processing, tax handling, and fraud prevention.
Hosting Infrastructure: For delivering website content and the static LidBendy.dmg binary.

7. Your Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your location, you have the right to:

Request access to personal information we hold about you (e.g. order history and email);
Request correction or complete deletion of your customer contact record;
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
